As a Peace Corps Volunteer in Kenya, I had the pleasure of meeting many talented artists while traveling the country. Being the daughter of a painter and a lover of art, I thought how amazing it would be to share their work with America. What if Peace Corps Volunteers around the globe could help their local artisans export their artwork to America? Enabling buyers to support gifted artists in developing countries, while simultaneously bringing to light the dedicated work of the Peace Corps, evolved into Peace of the World.
We can always use a reminder of the beauty that exists in the world. Art is an international language, telling stories about the people who created it and about the places they come from. It shows us that we are all connected, and that we have more in common than not.
